Iran’s Ghasem Rezaei snatches silver at World Wrestling Championships

Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Ghasem Rezaei claimed a silver medal in the World Championships in Las Vegas, the U.S. on Tuesday.
In the men’s 98kg, London 2012 gold medal winner Rezaei lost to Armenian wrestler Arthur Aleksanyan 3-0 and claimed a silver medal.Bronze medals were won by Russian Magomedov Islam and Ukrainian Dmitry Timchenko.
The 2015 World Wrestling Championships started on September 7 in Las Vegas, NV and will finish on September 12.
This is a tremendously important event in international wrestling, as it serves as the first qualifying event for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as the event in which the largest number of athletes earn a spot at the Olympics.
